The New Jersey Health
and Safety Institute is held at the Pinelands Center at Mt. Misery in Browns Mills, NJ.
Most aquatics
swimming sessions are held in the cold water spring-fed cedar
lake on the property. Swimming and lifeguarding pre-testing is held in the
indoor pool of Burlington County College in Pemberton. All classroom work is conducted in the several
all-purpose buildings and rooms. Meals
are served cafeteria style in the dining hall. On occasion, we will have
family style meals. The cost of meals for both resident and commuter students
is included in the course price. Special dietary needs can be met with
advance notice.
Lodging
Overnight accommodations include winterized cabins
with a shower and bathroom. Cabins are typical summer camp cabins, either
barracks style or with semi-private rooms. All cabins have bunks with
mattresses. There is no air-conditioning. We reserve the right to make cabin
assignments. There is also a centralized shower facility for commuters. However,
there is no storage area for personal items for commuters.
A list of area hotels is available on request. The nearest hotels are about
